Privacy Policy

This policy explains what SkinRegime (“SkinRegime”) collects, how we use it, and your choices.

What we collect

  • Account — via our auth partner: email address, a handle, and avatar.
  • Profile — skin type, concerns, ingredient sensitivities, and bio you choose to add.
  • Activity — routines you build/publish, reviews, likes, routine check-ins, and progress notes.
  • Technical — standard request logs and cookies needed to run the site and keep you signed in.

How we use it

To provide and personalize the service (e.g. “for my skin” filtering and recommendations), to operate your account and send service emails, to keep the community safe, and — with your consent — to send marketing emails such as the weekly digest (see Email communications & your choices below).

Email communications & your choices

Service emails — a welcome message plus account, security, and important service notices — are part of operating your account, and we send them on the basis of our agreement with you. Marketing emails — the weekly digest, reminders, and recommendations — are sent only with your consent: you opt in by checking the box at sign-up (off by default) or enabling it in your profile.

Opting out:every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can change your email preferences anytime in your profile. Opting out of marketing doesn’t stop essential service emails. We don’t sell or rent your email address.

What we process for email: your email address (from sign-up or your sign-in provider), your notification preferences, and delivery/engagement metadata handled by our email provider (Resend). For EU/UK users, our legal basis is consent for marketing emails and our contract/legitimate interest for service emails.

Who we share with

We don’t sell your personal data. We use trusted processors to run the service: authentication (Clerk), database + hosting (Neon, Vercel), and email delivery (Resend). Product/ingredient data comes from Open Beauty Facts (ODbL). If affiliate links are enabled, clicking them may share standard referral data with the retailer/network. Each processor handles data under its own terms.

Your rights

You can view and edit your profile in-app, and request access, correction, or deletion of your data by emailing support@skinregime.app. If you’re in the EU/UK (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), you have additional rights including access, deletion, and to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” — note we do not sell personal information.

Retention, security & children

We keep your data while your account is active and as needed for legal/operational purposes, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable safeguards but no system is perfectly secure. The service isn’t directed to children under 16.
