Ingredients / Retinoid (Vitamin A)

Retinoid (Vitamin A)

Vitamin A derivatives (retinol, retinaldehyde, adapalene) that speed cell turnover and stimulate collagen — the most evidence-backed ingredient for fine lines, texture, and acne.

How to use it

Start 2–3 nights a week and build up. Use at night, buffer with moisturizer if it stings, and always wear SPF the next morning.

Avoid combining with

Retinoid (Vitamin A) + Benzoyl peroxide

Benzoyl peroxide oxidizes and deactivates most retinoids, cancelling their benefit.

Use benzoyl peroxide in the AM and the retinoid at night, or on alternate days.

Retinoid (Vitamin A) + AHA (glycolic/lactic acid)

Both speed cell turnover — together they can over-exfoliate and irritate.

Alternate nights, or use the AHA in the AM and the retinoid at night.

Retinoid (Vitamin A) + BHA (salicylic acid)

Retinoid + BHA can over-exfoliate and compromise the barrier.

Alternate nights rather than layering in the same session.
